2020 SA & NT Conference – Abstract Submission

Call for Abstracts

The Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapists’ Association SA & NT branches are hosting a conference for Dental Therapists, Dental Hygienists, Oral Health Therapists, Dental Prosthetists, Dentists, Dental Specialist, academics, researchers and healthcare stakeholders.

The 2020 Conference will highlight the team approach to the provision of Oral Health and present evidence-based problem-solving approaches to Oral Health care.

Do you have a presentation or research relevant to the conference theme ‘The evolving role of the oral health practitioner for 2020 and beyond’? Presentations may include but are not limited to the team-based approach to dental and oral health care, research topics relevant to all Oral Health practitioners, clinical reasoning for the provision of dental and oral health care and the clinical application of dental and oral health care.

PRESENTATION TYPE

The organising committee invites submission of abstracts to be considered for ORAL PRESENTATION at the ADOHTA SA & NT Conference. Please note the number of spaces in the program for presentations is very limited. Submit your oral presentation abstract of 20 minutes (15 minutes presentation, 5 minutes question time).

ABSTRACT REQUIREMENTS

  • Title  – 15 words.
  • Abstract – 300 words. The abstract should include a background; aim; methodology; results and conclusions.

Abstracts are due by 4 May 2020. The abstracts will be assessed by the conference committee. The receipt of submissions will be confirmed by an acknowledgement email. All applicants, successful or otherwise, will be notified by 29 May 2020. 

PRESENTER REGISTRATION

All presenters will be required to register for the conference. Accepted submissions will receive a complimentary registration to the SA & NT branch conference on Friday 28 August 2020.

Please note you will be responsible for any travel and accommodation costs. You will be able to purchase dinner ticket/s (Friday 28 August) and workshop registrations (Saturday 29 August).

Abstract Submission Procedure

1. Prepare your abstract
Prepare your abstract text, maximum 300 words.

2. Enter your contact details
Click on the Submit a Presentation button (above) to enter your contact details.

3. Enter Presenter and Author details
Enter names and affiliations of the presenter and authors. Also enter brief biography of the presenter(s), 50 words is the maximum for all presenters.

4. Enter your abstract details
‘Cut and Paste’ the abstract text into the relevant field in the online submission process.

Abstract Document Details

For each abstract you submit you will be asked to enter the following information:

  • Presentation title (15 words maximum)
  • Name/s of author/s
  • Affiliation/s of author/s
  • Indicate the presenter
  • Short (50 word) biography of the presenter(s)
  • Abstract (max 300 words): background, aim, methodology, results and conclusions.

Audiovisual Equipment

The session room will be equipped for the presentation of PowerPoint slides and include a data projector, computer with external speakers, lectern and microphone.

Presentation Files

Presenters will take their Power Point slides to the meeting on a memory stick, where an audiovisual technician will load your presentation.

Video and audio clips should be embedded in your Power Point slides rather than linking to external files.

All slides will be run from a central presentation computer. However, if you have a complex presentation, which includes multiple media files, we suggest you bring your own laptop as a backup in case of difficulties loading your presentation.
