Innovation in Patient Management to help achieve Whole Mouth Health

Dr Susan Cartwright

Despite the significant advances in health care and available technology, dental caries and periodontal disease remain the most common chronic diseases impacting the majority of the world’s population.

It is well recognised that both dental caries and periodontal disease are largely preventable with good home care, optimal diet and regular dental care.

This presentation will explore the reasons for the disconnect between the aspiration and achievement of whole mouth health. The concept of whole mouth health will be reviewed along with the evolving role of the Dental Professional. Patients today have differing perspectives on health and wellness. They have instant access to large amounts of information for recommendations and advice. Communication tools as well as the chemistry and clinical support for an innovative oral care product to help motivate patients towards achieving whole mouth health will be presented.
